Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MatchGrade ("MatchGrade," "we," "us," or "our"), including the website, the profile-analysis tool, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By uploading photos, submitting bio text, creating a report, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The service

MatchGrade provides an automated, AI-generated critique of user-submitted dating profile photos and bio text. You upload two to six photos and, optionally, bio text; our system uses an AI model to produce a scored report with feedback and suggested improvements.

The Service is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. It is not professional advice of any kind (including dating, relationship, image, or psychological advice), and it does not guarantee any outcome — including matches, dates, or how any other person will perceive your profile.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using MatchGrade you represent that you meet this requirement.

You can generate a report without creating an account, but unlocking it requires a subscription. If you subscribe, we ask for your email address and use it to send you a passwordless sign-in link so you can access your reports from the dashboard. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure, since it is used to authenticate you.

4. Digital content and withdrawal waiver

When you subscribe to unlock a specific report, that report is generated and delivered immediately upon successful payment. By checking the waiver box before subscribing, you expressly request immediate delivery of this digital content and acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal (e.g., the 14-day "cooling-off" period available under EU/UK consumer-rights law for goods and services), to the extent such a right would otherwise apply to digital content delivered immediately with your prior consent.

We record the time you accepted the waiver and the IP address you accepted it from, for our records and to demonstrate compliance with applicable consumer-protection law.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Profile reports unlock only through a subscription, which also entitles you to up to 10 profile re-checks per calendar month. Subscriptions are available in two plans: a flexible plan, billed monthly and charged each month, which you can cancel at any time; and an annual plan, under which the full year is charged as a single payment at checkout (equal to 12 times the flexible plan's effective monthly rate) and the subscription then renews once a year. Current prices are shown on the Service before checkout and are charged in euros.

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). We do not collect or store your full card number or other sensitive payment credentials — see our Privacy Policy for details.

The flexible plan renews and is charged automatically each month; you can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal link available from your dashboard, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The annual plan renews and is charged automatically once a year; you can cancel at any time in the same way, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual period. Fees already paid, including the upfront annual charge, are non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

You may only upload photos and bio text that are your own, that depict you, and that you have the right to submit. You may not upload content that:

• depicts any other identifiable person without their consent;

• is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or sexually explicit;

• depicts anyone under the age of 18;

• impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity; or

• contains malware or attempts to interfere with or disrupt the Service.

We may remove content, refuse to generate a report, and suspend or terminate access for any account or session that violates this section.

7. AI-generated content and disclaimer

Reports are generated by an AI model and may contain inaccuracies, subjective judgments, or errors. Scores and feedback reflect the model's output at the time of generation and are not a certification of attractiveness, worth, or dating success. Do not treat the report as a substitute for your own judgment or for professional advice.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Your content and our license

You retain all ownership rights in the photos and bio text you submit. By submitting content, you grant MatchGrade a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process that content solely to generate your report and provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your photos or bio text to train AI models, and we do not sell your content to third parties.

9. Third-party services

MatchGrade relies on third-party providers to operate the Service, including Anthropic (AI analysis of photos and bio text), Supabase (hosting, authentication, and storage), and Stripe (payment processing). Your use of the Service is also subject to the extent applicable, to those providers' own terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time; see our Privacy Policy for how to request deletion of your data.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MatchGrade and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law
